NFL Betting | Tips And Trends For Week 8

Written by: UncleRico on October 26, 2010 · 209 Comments

NFL football betting players are always looking for tips and trends to help them out as they head to their online sportsbook, and that’s what we’re here for. Here is a look at a few of the games that will kick off in Week 8.

Packers Jets Betting – Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

The Packers haven’t fared well at all against the Jets, going 1-4 SU and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five meetings since 1991. This will also be the first time this season that the Packers are underdogs as the Jets are favored by six points at home. The Jets are 3-1 as a favorite and 2-1 ATS at home, and you also have to factor in that they’re coming off a bye, while the Packers had a draining game against Minnesota on Sunday night.

Dolphins Bengals Betting – Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

When it comes to going to a game this week, this could be one of the more entertaining for those willing to pay a nice price per head for tickets. The Bengals are 2-point favorites at home, but they’re only 1-2 as an ATS favorite, while the Dolphins are 3-1 ATS as underdogs. The Dolphins are also a stellar 3-0 on the road ATS, so they’re not going to be worried about going to Cincinnati, where they are 4-1 both SU and ATS in their last five trips.

Seahawks Raiders Betting – Sunday, 4:15 PM ET

This is an intriguing matchup of improved teams on the West Coast, and the Raiders are favored by 2.5 points at home, where they are 1-2 ATS. The Seahawks are 1-2 ATS away from home, but they’re also a solid 3-1 as an ATS underdog, so you’re going to have to pick this game very carefully. The Raiders have won five straight both SU and ATS at home over the Seahawks in their last five meetings, and that could persuade even those who are looking for NHL scores to lay something on the Raiders.

Texans Colts Betting – Monday, 8:30 PM ET

In this revenge Northbet review matchup (the Texans beat the Colts in Week 1), the Colts are favored by 5.5 points at home despite a rash of injuries to important players. The Texans have not won in Indianapolis in their eight seasons as an NFL franchise, but they are 4-4 ATS in that time, and they may be able to keep it close on the road due to all of the injuries to Indy skill players. Indy is 2-0 ATS at home, but they’re only 3-3 as a favorite, while the Texans are 1-0-1 ATS on the road. This will be one of the tougher games to bet on in Week 8.
